Purge or Splurge?
I am in the process of MOVING! Right now I’m living in a downtown studio, but I’m slowly moving all of my belongings to a 2bed apartment that I will share with my friend from law school. I’m looking forward to the change and the move will save me $150 a month on rent!
My roommate (M) and I agreed that I would take the master bedroom, which is just HUMONGOUS! I love moving into a new place because I really enjoy organizing my belongings. I know this sounds strange, but moving has become an annual cleansing process for me. I get rid of things I no longer need and rediscover items I didn’t know I owned.
M is currently in a purge phase. She wants to get rid of a lot of her belongings because she feels that she doesn’t need to have as much STUFF right now. While I should probably join her, I’ve been leaning toward a splurge phase! I want to update everything I have.
I went shopping today and picked up a new tablecloth for my beautiful new wooden dining set. I also found a 7-piece soft gold bed set that I absolutely LOVE! I can’t wait to be completely settled in at my new place!!

Wedding Season
Lately, I feel like EVERYONE I know is getting married. My best friend, J, just got engaged to a wonderful man. Next weekend, C’s friend is getting married and in October, C and I are going to drive down for a wedding in Southern California. I can’t even recognize many of my female friends on facebook because all of them have changed their last names.
I must be of the age where everyone decides to get hitched and start making babies! This makes me feel so old 
I won’t even be done with school for at least two more years… This makes me feel unsuccessful.
I’m not even sure if I want a wedding at all. The more I learn about them, the more of a costly headache they seem to be. I really don’t need a 3k + dollar dress that I’ll only wear once. I’m much rather use the money to travel the world!

MPRE
On August 6th I will be taking an ethics test required by the CA bar association.
I wish I had known that the barbri package covered the cost of a Professional Responsibility (PR) outline so I could have picked it up for free last Fall! Now it will cost $10 to have it shipped from LA. Luckily, my friend gave me their old barbri outline so I’m looking over that and the Kaplan book for the next couple of weeks.
I’ve decided to take the test early because I don’t want to deal with it in Fall. Hopefully I can pass it the first time!

Friends Going Places
My friend is going to help a clinic in Kenya for three weeks this summer before starting her final year of nursing school! She is leaving tomorrow & 26 hours later will arrive in Africa! I’m so proud of her for taking this chance, leaving her comfort zone, and making a real difference in the process.
