Review: Suave Deodorant in Sweet Pea and Violet

I found this great little item for an amazing $0.97!  I really didn’t expect much at that price, but I’m really happy with this one.  It feels so light, goes on smooth and clear, and you just can’t beat that price.

It also smells great, which is a real plus when I’m jogging.  Lately, I’ve been getting back on the treadmill (3 miles Tuesday, 3 miles Wednesday, and 3 miles today).  It feels great to be getting back in shape and it really helps that C is trying to workout more too!

Soft Skin

While you may need tough skin to make it through law/nursing school, you certainly don’t literally need to have a rough exterior.  My mom recently gave me an item from her Mary Kay Private Spa Collection package and I LOVE it!  It’s the Extra Emollient Night Cream pictured below.  (Retail value is about $13)

This moisturizer comes in a tall, skinny tube and can be used to treat even the driest parts of your body.  It reminds me of chap stick or Vaseline, which may be because the first ingredient listed is petrolatum.  Because it is so sticky, I can only see using it at night.  If you wear it during the day, it is likely to attract dirt and other unwanted particles that will cling to your skin.

I am constantly on the lookout for new products and this is definitely one of the better skin care products to use at night.

Keep Chugging That H2O

At the hospital I encourage patients to drink as much water as possible.  Even though it’s terribly hot lately, they still don’t want to drink water!  They all want soda!

I have no idea how to get people interested in water.  Saying, “It is GOOD for you” doesn’t seem to be enough.  H2O helps you lose weight, have better skin, and helps keep the organs in good shape.  Even if they know about the endless benefits of drinking water, they are locked into their soda drinking habits!

One of the few things I agreed with with in Skinny Bitch was that soda is “liquid Satan.”  It makes you FAT!  It’s bad for your teeth and bad for your digestive system.  While I admit I do enjoy the occasional Strawberry Italian Soda or Orange Fanta, I’ve managed to avoid a sugar drink addiction.  Some of my friends have become hooked on Diet Coke (or worse, Redbull or Monster Energy Drinks).

When I have children, I’m not even sure if I will keep soda in the house.  That may seem crazy, but it’s like a drug for some people and I do not want to establish unhealthy habits.  I’m going to serve water with every meal, pack water bottles, and tell them to keep chugging!
